Where Was God?

I have heard that question and various versions of it for some time now. The answer is that God was there when the Twin Towers were attacked. Some people who lack the same worldview that I have will be quick to ask the question "if there really is an all good God, than how can he allow such evil in the world"?
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life." That's John in the Bible as I remember it - I didn't look it up - and I believe it.
For those of us who are parents, would the love of your child be as sweet (or really even be considered "love") if they had no choice but to love you? You see, God loves us with a love so deep and caring that He made the world for us and set us on it as the rulers of all of Creation, and then He gave us the ultimate gift - free choice.
Free choice to love Him, to love each other, to love the world, to love anything that can be loved. And there you have it - the crux of the biscuit as it were. God loves us so much that knowing we would turn from Him, He still created us with the capacity to choose our own paths and then He made sure one of those paths would return back to Him. His very own Son carved that path out of the wilderness of life when He poured his life out for us on the cross at Calvary.
What a wonderful legacy and promise rolled into one for us. Would you love so deeply and fully and richly as to have the opportunity to make your child love you, and then pass on the offer for their sake - out of your love for them?

God is love.

I saw God during the attack in many forms; let me tell you about but a few of them- Two buildings that normally have over 50,000 people in them have 4,000 missing. The World Trade Building was attacked, not the USA Trade Building. There were many citizens of the world killed in the attack. The world is now turning an eye on terrorism in a way that it would not have if "just" Americans had been killed.
A few normal people, one simply described in the press as a Sunday School Teacher, brought down a terrorist attempt to destroy more of America. Not the military, not a trained soldier, not even a policeman, but regular Americans - "regular" patriots.
There are many more such stories. We have all heard most of them by now. And God, who sits on the throne, will continue to pour His love out on us. This is the time to stand up and be counted. Reach out to others and pray for those who still ask "where was God?" Point the way to the path that Christ cleared for us, for Christ is also the Truth and the Light. If you don't know Him, He Himself is that path. Click the link below to find out more.

Jesus is standing at the door to your heart all the time. He is knocking to come in and love you and guide you. He is offering you the gift of everlasting life, but you must hear Him and open the door to Him as He will not kick it in. (Rev. 3:20) A gift is just outside your heart's door at this time. Will you receive this gift? Will you open the door to Jesus and let him flood your soul with His love? If so, read the following paragraph as your prayer.

Father, I know that I have sinned and I turn from those ways and ask you to come into my heart and cleanse me. I know that I cannot do this on my own and I need your help. Fill my soul, Lord, and make me whole. I want your will for my life to be preeminent. Help me to grow in your way. I pray this in the precious name of Jesus.
    Amen
