No Place Like Home

"Somewhere Over The Rainbow" is the theme song of the famous musical production, "The Wizard Of Oz." In this song, Dorothy sings of a place of pleasantries, a sort of Utopia, where no sadness, only gladness exists. By the end, after going through many upsetting ordeals, Dorothy's only desire is to get back to the safety and comfort of her own very real backyard. She whispers over and over, "There's no place like home. There's no place like home," as she is awakened to find her ordeal may have all been just a bad dream.
How many people do you know who are living their life like Dorothy, searching for something that exists only in their own imagination when all along their real happiness has been right before them in their own backyard? For example, there are those who hold unrealistic expectations in their personal relationships or marriage, seeking the perfect Adonis, the type or person who only exists in romance novels and fantasies. This perfect individual never has a bad hair day or bad breath and never loses his temper or forgets a special occasion.
Today, divorce rates are astronomical. The pedestal we once placed our marriage vows on has sunk to footstool proportions, partially due to the fact our society is used to tossing something aside when it is broken rather than take time to repair the problem.
Marriage is a commitment and should never be entered into lightly; it is real work and takes the devotion of both partners if it is to succeed.
In the Bible, God tells us ALL things are possible to those who place their faith in God and His Son Jesus Christ. If God created the earth and all living things in six days, was able to perform wonderous miracles and raise His Son from the dead, would it be too difficult for Him to repair a hurting marriage?
It is not God's intention for a long, committed, and happy marriage to be something that exists only in one's dreams. There truly CAN be "no place like home" if husband and wife place their faith and trust, not only in each other, but in the capable and loving hands of our Heavenly Father, God. Call on Him today.

Jesus is standing at the door to your heart all the time. He is knocking to come in and love you and guide you. He is offering you the gift of everlasting life, but you must hear Him and open the door to Him as He will not kick it in. (Rev. 3:20) A gift is just outside your heart's door at this time. Will you receive this gift? Will you open the door to Jesus and let him flood your soul with His love? If so, read the following paragraph as your prayer.

Father, I know that I have sinned and I turn from those ways and ask you to come into my heart and cleanse me. I know that I cannot do this on my own and I need your help. Fill my soul, Lord, and make me whole. I want your will for my life to be preeminent. Help me to grow in your way.
    Amen
