In all things
Rev. Kenneth Francart

Given the number of times that God made sure that "in all things" appears in Scripture it makes one think that it is an important phrase.
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. The totality of the Christ is seen in the Scripture, not in just a verse here and there, but He is seen in All of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. Because He is in All Scripture as well as In All Things we are instructed to be fully aware that not one item, not one thought, and not one spoken word is ours, but the Lord's.
We are instructed to be full and to be hungry. We are fully aware of all that God has given us and still want more from Him, only so that the void in each of us can be filled. With all He continues to give us there will always be a void that needs filling. (The more we get, the more we need.)
When we speak we should always have Jesus first in our thoughts. Imagine trusting a Saviour, and thinking of our Lord and teacher and spewing harmful words. It just would not happen. If in all things Jesus is glorified and honored through us, we will not be able to dishonor His presence in our lives. Waking and having breakfast, Christ is to be the preeminent thought in our heads. Washing and putting up the dishes, Christ is to be the preeminent thought in our heads. Speaking with neighbors, Christ is to be the preeminent thought in our heads. Yes, and in loving our spouse, Jesus Christ is to be the preeminent thought in our heads.
In all things we must grow to be more and more like Jesus because in doing so we make Him our goal and bring honor and glory to Him.

Phil 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Jesus is standing at the door to your heart all the time. He is knocking to come in and love you and guide you. He is offering you the gift of everlasting life, but you must hear Him and open the door to Him as He will not kick it in. (Rev. 3:20) A gift is just outside your heart's door at this time. Will you receive this gift? Will you open the door to Jesus and let him flood your soul with His love? If so, read the following paragraph as your prayer.

Father, I know that I have sinned and I turn from my sinful ways and ask you to come into my heart and cleanse me. I know that I cannot do this on my own and I need your help. Fill my soul, Lord, and make me whole. I want your will for my life to be preeminent. Help me to grow in your way. I pray this in the precious name of Jesus.
    Amen
