| On The Damascus Road |

Prepare to come face to face with your Lord and
Saviour, Jesus Christ! This is not a site for the merely nosy, but for
those that truly are seeking relief from the life they are living: Those
that know in their heart that there has to be a whole lot more for them,
than what they are presently experiencing now: Those that want to fill
their life with peace, joy, and love for themselves and their fellow
wanderers on this planet earth. | honored and righteous man, a Pharisee who believed in the God of Abraham and resurrection, and of angels. There were the Sadducees, who believe in neither, the resurrection or angels, on the other side of the aisle. Paul sat in the counsel (Sanhedrin) and listened to the strong arguments from both sides. This Jesus of Nazareth and all his followers had become a sticky wicket in the lives of the main stream religious leaders. They were seeing a erosion of their followers to this new "cult" of Christians. An edict had gone out from the counsel that no one was to talk of this Jesus to anyone without fear of imprisonment or punishment even to stoning. Acts 7:59

(Pretty severe punishment but we know that it happened and Saul was right
in the middle holding the garments of those that were doing the stoning.)

I know that this is not your "cup of tea," but I also know that you are searching for a new life to live, a better way to do things, and a peace in your life that is true and refreshing. How do I know this? I've been where you are and have had the same longings and faced up to what I was, a sinner, and I needed to change my life around. I also knew that I could not do that by myself and I needed help. I met Jesus on the Damascus Road and he opened my eyes and understanding. After hearing the Word preached and reading the bible, I received Jesus into my
life. I gave up self control by turning it
over to the Holy Spirit. I gave my life to the service of the living God.
Jesus came into my life and changed me into a new man with a renewed
spirit. | Oh, I'm not perfect, nor do I expect to be until I am in His presence. But a changed man and a more peaceful and loving husband and father has emerged from within by the grace of God. I want you to have the same wondrous experience. I want you to know the peace and love that comes from opening your heart to Jesus and let him come in to guide you and help you turn your life around. I don't expect this to happen in a moment, like in Saul's case, (Though, in page 3
|
Saul's
case, it was momentary) but it can take time. Give yourself over to the
leading of the Holy Spirit, let Him guide your paths and fill you with His
blessings, and you will grow in Him and only wish you had done so before.

If that is what you really want, there is still the need to have the Lord Jesus in your life. He said, "Behold I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
(Rev. 3:20).
He is standing at the door to your heart all the time.
He is knocking to come in and love you and guide you. He is
offering you the gift of everlasting life, but you must hear Him and open
the door to Him as He will not kick it in. A gift is just outside your
heart's door at this time. Will you receive this gift? Will you open the
door to Jesus and let him flood your soul with His love? If so, read the
following paragraph as your prayer.
|
Father, I know that I have sinned and I turn from those ways and ask you to come into my heart and cleanse me. I know that I cannot do this on my own and I need your help. Fill my soul, Lord, and make me whole. I want your will for my life to be preeminent. Help me to grow in your way. Amen |
