Tell Me A Story
by Lisa Suhay

I am as pleased as can be to announce that Lisa Suhay has had her book "Tell Me A Story" published by Paraclete Press $20.00 hardcover. This book is a compellation of 32 remarkable Modern Day Fables. I can not add anything more to what has already been said about this most interesting and extremely well written book of finely wove words of a true story teller.
Born from a deep need to instruct her 2 children (now 3) and help her ward off the evils of the day, these fables, consisting of frogs, magpies, grackles and many other animals, lead the reader into a better understanding of where we are and how we might improve our circumstances.
Many of her stories have appeared on Daily Wisdom an online devotional site in cyberspace that teaches of the love of Jesus. Some of her stories are happily carried here on this website in the "Stories" section.

The Work Of The Fable
The fable/parable/allegorie has always been the best way to present a concept to an audience. Such works as The Narnia chronicles, The Little Prince, and Aesop's Fables all have within them the underlying moral principle embedded in an entertaining story. In Scripture Jesus used the Parables to teach and enlighten his followers rather than use sermonized soliloquy. Given the choice the young child to the older generation will always choose the story with a lesson built in. Mrs. Suhay has accomplished this marvelously in her book of Spiritual Life/Fables in "Tell Me A Story."
Warren Kramer, Editor of the Daily Wisdom Online Devotional site, wrote the foreword and the following is an excerpt from that foreword.
"From the quixotic endeavors of a benevolent dolphin, to the
change of heart of a greedy magpie, to the neighborly support of
a twisted tree, your own excursions through these pages can help
you keep alive the truths that kindness still begets kindness, that
helping another with a problem can diminish our own, and that
whosoever truly wants to, will see the crane's home in the sky."

Dr.Deepak Chopra, author of "How to Know God", happily contributes this endorsement:
"Lisa Suhay teaches the great lessons of life with the elegance of simplicity and wisdom. These stories will shift your awareness and give you great insights. You will discover that no matter what the problem, it has a spiritual solution."
About The Author
Lisa Suhay has had a wide range of newspaper work from the Gulf War in Saudi Arabia and Israel, living aboard a sailboat with her husband while raising their children at sea.
Lisa is a freelance writer, who's work appears in the New Jersey section of the New York Times . She has a column which runs in the Philadelphia Inquirer and Family Circle Magazine. She has a wide acceptance in numerous other publications.
Most importantly, Lisa Suhay is a great storyteller. She began this book as a way to illustrate ways of handling life's journey with out mandating exactly what to do or how to live.
Mrs. Suhay writes from her home in Medford, New Jersey.

Where Can I Get Tell Me A Story
I have found this book on the web at Barnes and Noble, Available April 2000.
A further search brought up Amazon.com Also available April 2000
I'm sure there will also be local bookstores that will be carrying this book once the book is made available in April 2000.

Read a Great review from CNN
